You will be welcomed at the airport and transported to the Laurentians, the area where the first snowmobile club was born! Upon your arrival at the hotel, we will offer you a sample of the famous Québécois cocktail called "petit caribou", in an atmosphere typical of this northern retreat. This is your first night in the country of white gold.
After breakfast, we will give our safety briefing and general rules and instructions to make you comfortable with your snowmobile. After the distribution of equipment and clothing, we will depart on the groomed, snowmobile-only trails of Ste-Agathe, surrounded by the natural splendour of the frozen countryside. We will stop along the way for a typical snowmobiler's meal at lunch, and then continue towards our final destination of St-Donat, where a savoury dinner will be followed by a well earned good night's sleep. This was your first adventure ride, get ready for tomorrow!
Today we will introduce you to the largest reserve in Québec: Mont-Tremblant Park. After leaving the village of St-Donat, we will trek through this immense park where only snowmobiles are allowed to drive amongst the giant fir trees of this magnificent forest. At the end of the day we will have traveled 150 kilometers to arrive in a warm and friendly inn where locals and snowmobilers from all over the world exchange stories.
This morning we will leave the trails of the reserve and follow the famous "petit train du nord" heading north to the ultimate destination of the Montagne du Diable, or Devil's Mountain. On our way to its famous lookout point (with lookout possibilities as far away as Montreal), we will pass the fabulous Windigo falls. Sometimes it is half frozen, but there is always enough water falling to make for a spectacular photo. A coffee break and more photos are a must, before descending back down to find our restaurant and hotel in Mont-Laurier, where a party atmosphere awaits our stories of the day.
Today we will go for an adventure ride across lakes so large and frozen so deep that ice often forms three feet thick. Your riding ability will be tested in deep powder today as we slide around herds of white tailed deer, easily visible from our mountain-top look-out. By sunset, we will be enjoying a hearty meal at the welcome table of the Auberge at Lac Des Plages.
Our last day of snowmobiling takes us along 160 kilometers of some of the prettiest trails on the western edge of the Laurentian region where open, rolling terrain blends in with the mountains in the distance. We will enjoy the versatility and performance of our snowmobiles along these exceptional trails. We are expected back in the afternoon to tell the tall of our great adventure!
You will leave with many fond memories and impressions of the winter countryside as seen from your snowmobile adventure ride.
